Cold water immersion carries cardiovascular risk. It is not advisable for people with heart conditions, uncontrolled blood pressure, or during pregnancy, and should never be practiced alone in open water.
Sauna and heat exposure carry risks for people with cardiovascular conditions, and for anyone pregnant or dehydrated.
